Dhanyamla Kizhi

Dhanyamla Kizhi

Dhanyamla Kizhi is a therapeutic Ayurvedic treatment that utilizes a mixture of fermented grains and herbs to address various musculoskeletal issues, inflammation, and detoxification. This unique therapy harnesses the power of fermented cereals to deliver potent healing effects to the body.

In Dhanyamla Kizhi, a blend of medicinal herbs and grains such as rice, barley, horse gram, and black gram is soaked, fermented, and cooked. The fermented mixture is then tied into boluses (kizhis) using cloth bags. These boluses are heated in a mixture of medicated liquids such as herbal decoctions, Dhanyamla (fermented liquid), and medicated oils.

During the treatment, the warm boluses are systematically applied to the body through gentle massage, focusing on areas of pain, stiffness, or inflammation. The therapeutic properties of the fermented grains, combined with the herbal extracts and medicated liquids, penetrate deep into the tissues, promoting circulation, reducing inflammation, and relieving muscular tension
